Sunekos

Doctor-led Sunekos treatment in Manchester, supporting skin texture and quality.

Sunekos

Support for the skin's own structure

Sunekos is an injectable skin treatment that combines hyaluronic acid with amino acids. These are the building blocks the skin uses to make collagen and elastin, and the aim is to support the skin's own structure rather than to add volume. It is often selected for skin that looks thin, crepey, dull or textured, where the concern is quality rather than shape.

At Evolve Aesthetics in Manchester, Sunekos is offered as part of a personalised skin plan. Our doctors will look at your skin, discuss your priorities and explain whether Sunekos, another skin booster or a different approach altogether is likely to help you most.

Why choose it

What Sunekos is designed to do

Improved texture

It is often chosen for skin that looks rough, uneven or lacking smoothness.

Support for crepey skin

Fine crepiness, often seen under the eyes or on the neck, can look smoother as skin quality improves.

Hydration and elasticity

The hyaluronic acid component helps hydrate, while the amino acids support the skin's structure.

Subtle, natural-looking change

No added volume means results focus on how the skin looks and feels.

How Sunekos differs from other skin boosters

Skin treatments often get grouped together, but their purposes are different. Standard skin boosters are mainly designed to hydrate. Profhilo is designed to spread through tissue for firmness and bio-remodelling. Sunekos adds amino acids, which are intended to support the skin's collagen-producing cells, so it is usually discussed when texture and thinness are key concerns.

Two common protocols exist for the face. Sunekos 1200 is often used as the first-phase treatment, while Sunekos Performa may be used in areas where a more targeted facial approach is being considered. Your doctor will explain which fits your skin and goals, and whether it is suitable for areas beyond the face such as the neck or hands.

What happens during treatment

After a consultation and skin assessment, the skin is cleansed and numbing cream may be applied. The product is injected in tiny amounts at multiple points just beneath the skin surface, using fine needles. This is different from filler, where larger amounts are placed in specific areas.

You may feel brief stinging, and small raised bumps are usual straight afterwards. They typically flatten within hours to a couple of days. Redness, swelling or small bruises can occur and generally settle quickly. Sunekos is usually delivered as a course of sessions, with the spacing explained by your doctor. Results develop gradually, and many people notice a smoother, fresher complexion as the course progresses.

Aftercare and getting the best from treatment

After your appointment, we suggest the following steps.

Skin quality treatments work best alongside good sun protection and a consistent routine. Your clinician can recommend skincare that supports the result without irritating treated skin.

  • Avoid touching or rubbing the area for several hours
  • Avoid intense exercise, saunas and very hot showers for 24 hours
  • Keep makeup minimal for the rest of the day
  • Use daily sunscreen and a gentle moisturiser
  • Maintain hydration and consider a supportive skincare routine

Safety, suitability and expectations

Sunekos is generally well tolerated, but as with any injectable it carries risks, including swelling, bruising, tenderness, lumps and, rarely, allergic reactions or infection. Treatment is not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where the skin is infected or inflamed. Please tell us about any allergies, autoimmune conditions or medication.

Sunekos will not replace lost volume, lift sagging skin or erase deep lines. It aims to improve skin quality and texture over time, and results vary. If your key concern is volume or deep folds, another treatment may serve you better, and we will say so. Combining skin quality treatment with other options is common, and we can discuss this in your plan.

Profhilo focuses on hydration and bio-remodelling and is placed at a small number of points. Sunekos adds amino acids and is placed more finely across the skin, which is why it is often chosen when texture and thinness are the main concerns.

Sunekos Performa is often discussed for delicate areas such as the lower eyelid, where crepey skin is common. Whether it is suitable for you will depend on your anatomy and skin, and your doctor will advise at consultation.

Treatment is not suitable in pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection or where there is a known allergy to any of the ingredients. Tell your doctor about your medical history, medication and any history of allergic reactions.
