Profhilo Manchester

Profhilo is an injectable skin treatment that hydrates deeply, improves skin elasticity, and enhances firmness for a smoother, more radiant appearance.

Profhilo Bio-Remodelling

Skin quality, not volume

Profhilo is an injectable skin treatment based on hyaluronic acid, designed to improve hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality rather than to add shape or volume. It is often described as bio-remodelling because the product spreads beneath the skin and is intended to support the skin's own ability to look firmer, smoother and more radiant over time.

At Evolve Aesthetics in Manchester, Profhilo is a popular choice for people whose skin looks tired, dry or lacking in bounce, but who do not want to change the structure of their face. It is also frequently combined with other treatments in a longer-term skin plan, which our doctors will explain after assessing your skin.

Why choose it

What Profhilo can help with

Deep hydration

The hyaluronic acid content helps skin retain moisture, which can leave it looking plumper and healthier.

Improved elasticity

Many people notice skin feels firmer and more supple as the treatment takes effect over weeks.

Radiance and glow

Better hydration reflects light more evenly, creating a fresher, smoother complexion.

Subtle, natural change

Because it does not add volume, results tend to look like your own skin at its best.

How Profhilo differs from dermal filler

This is one of the most common questions we hear. Dermal fillers are designed to restore volume, shape features or define contours, and they stay where they are placed. Profhilo is designed to spread through the tissue and is injected at specific points rather than moulded into shape. It does not lift or contour the face, but it can help with skin that looks slack, crepey or dehydrated.

For this reason, the two treatments are often seen as complementary rather than competing. A person with volume loss in the cheeks may benefit from filler, while a person whose main concern is dull, thin or dry skin may find Profhilo more suitable. Many people use both. Your doctor will help you identify which concern is dominant and recommend accordingly.

What happens during treatment

Following a consultation and skin assessment, the skin is cleansed and a numbing cream may be used. Profhilo is injected at a small number of defined points on each side of the face, and sometimes on the neck or other areas. The number of injection points is typically small compared with some other skin booster treatments.

You may feel brief stinging as the product is injected. Small raised bumps form at each point, and they generally settle within a few hours to a couple of days as the product spreads. Mild redness, tenderness or bruising is possible. Many people go straight back to work, although you may wish to avoid important events for a day or two, particularly if you bruise easily.

Treatment course, results and aftercare

Profhilo is commonly delivered as a course of two sessions, usually about four weeks apart, followed by maintenance as advised. Your doctor will recommend a plan based on your skin and goals. Results build gradually, and many people notice improvement in skin quality after the first few weeks.

Typical aftercare guidance includes the following.

Hydration, sleep and sun protection all help results look their best and last longer.

  • Avoid touching or massaging the treated areas for the rest of the day
  • Skip intense exercise, saunas and very hot showers for 24 hours
  • Avoid makeup for several hours, then use clean products
  • Use daily sunscreen and a gentle skincare routine
  • Contact us if you notice persistent swelling, pain or unusual redness

Safety and suitability

Profhilo is generally well tolerated, but it is still a medical treatment. Side effects can include swelling, tenderness, bruising and lumps at the injection points, and occasionally a delayed reaction. Treatment is not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding, during active skin infection or where there is a known allergy to the product.

We take a full medical history before treatment, including any history of autoimmune conditions, allergies or recurrent cold sores. Profhilo cannot replace lost volume or lift significant sagging, and we will be open if your goals are better served by another treatment. Results vary between individuals and are not guaranteed.
