Cheek and Jaw Contouring

Doctor-led cheek and jaw contouring in Manchester, rebuilding structure with a natural finish.

Cheek & Jaw Contouring

Structure from the cheekbone to the jaw

The cheeks and jaw frame the face. As we age, the bone and fat that support them gradually change, and the soft tissue can drift downward, which is why the midface can look flatter and the jawline softer. Cheek and jaw contouring uses dermal filler to restore support and definition in these areas, usually in a way that creates a lifted look without anyone being able to say what has changed.

At Evolve Aesthetics in Manchester, treatment is doctor-led and planned around your own facial anatomy. We do not apply a template. We assess how your cheeks, temples, jaw and chin relate to each other, then decide whether one area, or a combination, will give the most natural improvement.

Why choose it

What cheek and jaw contouring can do

Midface support

Placing filler along the cheekbones can restore the soft, lifted contour that tends to flatten with time.

Defined jawline

Well-placed filler along the jaw can sharpen the line between face and neck and improve overall balance.

Facial harmony

Contouring both areas together often looks more natural than treating one area in isolation.

Subtle lift

By supporting tissue from beneath, filler can soften shadows and reduce the look of tiredness.

Why the cheeks and jaw are treated together

The cheek and jaw areas affect how each other looks. If the cheeks lose volume, the jowls can seem heavier, and the nasolabial folds can deepen. A stronger jawline can look more striking when the midface is supported, whereas jaw filler on its own can sometimes make a flattened midface more obvious. That is why our doctors usually consider both regions during the same assessment, even if you only wish to treat one.

Where we recommend treating only one area, we will explain why and what to expect. Staged treatment, with a review before adding more, is a perfectly sensible way to achieve a natural-looking outcome and allows your face to settle between sessions.

What happens during treatment

After your consultation and photographs, the skin is cleansed and a numbing cream may be used. Filler is placed with a fine needle or cannula in small, controlled amounts at different depths, depending on the structure being supported. The doctor checks symmetry at each stage, often with you sitting upright, as gravity changes how filler looks.

Most people describe pressure rather than sharp pain. You can see the result straight away, but it is normal for the face to look a little full during the first few days. Mild swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur and usually resolves within a week. Final results are typically assessed around two weeks, and a top-up can be considered if appropriate.

Aftercare guidance

Careful aftercare helps the filler settle where it was placed. We provide detailed guidance for your product and treatment area, and it generally includes the following.

If you notice persistent pain, skin colour change, a hard area or a significant difference from one side to the other, contact the clinic promptly.

  • Avoid pressing, rubbing or massaging the treated areas for the first 24 hours
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and heat for around 24 to 48 hours
  • Sleep on your back with your head slightly raised for the first night
  • Avoid facials and dental work for around two weeks where possible
  • Use gentle skincare and daily sunscreen

Safety, anatomy and realistic outcomes

Facial filler involves working near important blood vessels and nerves, and that is why we treat it as a medical procedure rather than a beauty add-on. Complications such as vascular occlusion are rare, but they require rapid recognition and management. Our doctor-led approach, product knowledge and ultrasound experience are built around reducing risk and responding properly if something is not right.

Filler can change contour, but it cannot remove excess skin or replace a surgical facelift. If your concerns relate more to loose skin than to volume, your doctor may suggest a skin-tightening or skin-quality treatment, or tell you honestly that a different approach would suit you better. We would rather advise you correctly than sell you the wrong treatment.

FAQ

Cheek & Jaw Contouring FAQs

It should look like a better-rested version of you. We build gradually and check symmetry regularly, and we can stage treatment across appointments if you prefer a subtle change.

It depends on the product, area treated and your metabolism. Deeper structural filler often lasts longer than filler used for surface lines, commonly nine to eighteen months.

Most people tolerate it well with numbing cream and the local anaesthetic often included in the filler. Pressure is more noticeable than pain.

Cheek filler supports the midface and cheekbone, while jaw filler improves the line and definition of the lower face. They are often planned together for balance.

Most people return to normal activities straight away, though swelling or bruising may be visible for a few days. Planning ahead of events is sensible.

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved if needed. We will discuss the product used and your options at the consultation.

Treatment starts from £400, and the final price depends on the amount and areas treated. You will receive a clear quote at your consultation.
