Non-surgical Rhinoplasty

Refining the nose without surgery

Non-surgical rhinoplasty, sometimes called a liquid nose job, uses dermal filler to change the appearance of the nose. Rather than removing bone or cartilage, small amounts of filler are placed to smooth bumps, lift a drooping tip or improve the straightness of the bridge. It can also help with minor asymmetry.

It is a precise and technically demanding treatment, and it is one that we only offer after careful medical assessment. At Evolve Aesthetics in Manchester, our doctors will discuss what filler can achieve, what it cannot and what the risks are. The nose is a particularly sensitive area, and an honest consultation is the first and most important part of treatment.

Why choose it

What non-surgical rhinoplasty can help with

Smoother bridge

Filler can camouflage a small dorsal bump by building the areas above and below it.

Lifted tip

Gentle support can raise a slightly drooping tip and improve the angle between nose and lip.

Improved symmetry

Small irregularities and mild deviations can sometimes be camouflaged for a straighter appearance.

No surgery or general anaesthetic

The treatment is quick, and most people return to normal activities straight away.

What filler can and cannot do

A key point to understand is that filler adds volume, so it cannot make a nose smaller. What it can do is change the way light and shadow fall on the nose, creating the illusion of a straighter or more refined profile. A person with a low bridge may benefit from added height, while a person with a broad or large nose will not get a smaller nose from filler, although it may be made to look more balanced.

Our doctors will give a candid opinion. If your goals are unlikely to be achieved with filler, we will say so and you can consider other routes, including a consultation with a specialist surgeon. We also show you what changes might look like in photographs before you decide.

How treatment is carried out

Your medical history is reviewed, with particular attention to any previous nasal surgery or filler, as scarring can affect the blood supply and increase risk. Photographs are taken, the nose is cleansed and a numbing cream may be used. Using a fine needle or cannula, the doctor places very small amounts of a firm hyaluronic acid filler at precise points, usually in stages and with frequent checks on the shape.

Most people find the treatment tolerable, with pressure rather than significant pain. You will see the effect straight away. Swelling is usually limited, but the area can be tender for a few days. We recommend reviewing the result after about two weeks, when any small refinement can be considered.

Aftercare

Aftercare is simple but important, as the nose has little tissue to cushion filler.

Where glasses are essential, we explain how to minimise pressure. Sleeping with your head slightly raised can also help reduce swelling.

  • Avoid pressing on or touching the nose for 24 hours
  • Avoid wearing glasses on the bridge as advised, or use a light support
  • Skip intense exercise, saunas and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours
  • Avoid blowing your nose forcefully for a couple of days
  • Contact us straight away if you notice pain, blanching or colour change

Risks and why anatomy matters

The nose has a delicate blood supply, and filler in this area carries a higher risk than in some other places. A vascular complication, although rare, can cause skin damage, and in the most serious cases affect vision. That is why this treatment should only be carried out by a properly trained medical professional who is equipped to recognise and manage complications.

You should tell your doctor if you have had nasal surgery, a significant injury or previous filler, as these factors can alter the anatomy and the safety of treatment. Other risks include swelling, bruising, lumps and asymmetry. If you are unhappy with results, hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme. Please seek urgent medical care if you notice severe pain or visual changes.

FAQ

Non-surgical Rhinoplasty FAQs

No. Filler adds volume, so it cannot reduce size. It can change the appearance of the profile and balance, but it does not remove tissue.

Often around nine to twelve months, although filler in the nose can sometimes last longer. It varies between individuals.

Most people feel pressure and mild discomfort. Numbing cream can help, and the procedure is brief.

It carries more risk than some other areas because of blood vessel anatomy. It should only be performed by trained medical professionals, and we discuss the risks fully beforehand.

Possibly, but it needs particular caution. Prior surgery can alter blood supply and anatomy, so your doctor will assess this carefully and may advise against treatment.

Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if needed. We recommend speaking to us rather than any other provider if you are concerned.

Treatment starts from £350, and the final price depends on how much filler is required.
